1988 Mazda 626..160,000 miles..Recently I've noticed an intermittant "dogging" sound from the motor while driving..Not any really noticable loss of power
but I can hear it in the engine..No service lights are coming on at all..When I opened the hood to check the oil, which was fine, I hear some pretty bad lifter noise that wasn't there just a short time ago..Could this problem be arising from a clogged screen or filter somewhere? If so, is there any way to "help"
the problem short of a major repair..If not the problem any other ideas on what it could be? Any advice will be greatly appreciated..Thank you very much...
