No low-beam headlights

Electrical problem
1994 Mazda 626 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 182,00 miles

I have a headlight issue. Dashboard, parking lights, rear lights all run. Passing high-beam works when stalk is pulled. Bulbs are known good. No power to headlight bulbs w/switch on. Cannot find headlight relay to test. Have Chilton's manual, but wiring diagram does not match what I see on the car.
Have taken off cover for headlight switch on steering column, but that is as far as I got.

headlight relay is mounted on side of fuse/relay block, in engine compartment.

I fixed by installing a new headlight circuit of my own.

Cost: $21.00.

I did not use the old circuit except to tap into a relay terminal in the right front corner of the car.

Otherwise, $347.28 for the headlight assembly, and/or $60.00 for a relay.
