2002 Mazda 323 Repair Question

Annoying bumpy ride.
2002 Mazda 323 4 cyl Automatic 101000 miles
My Mazda 323 was running fine only a few days ago, my engine was splashed with water and after that it has been really bumpy when idling and then when I take off. It happens quite often but when its cold its fine. What sorts of things should I look at when asking for a repair?
