2004 Mazda 3 Repair Question

2004 Mazda 3 steering, fuel filter, brakes
Steering problem
2004 Mazda 3 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles
Curious why my steering makes a straining sound when I turn the wheel. Happens more intensely when in parking lots (limited car movement), but also turning corners. Is this a steering pump or maybe a cv joint problem? Fluids were checked and levels are fine.
Also, my rear brakes often grind when I reversing. I had brakes checked and they were fine, power washed them incase dusty. What could this be?
Last, I get a weakened rev (especially when I floor it), would this be fuel filter? or something else?
Your help is much appreciated!
