2004 Mazda 3 Front Rotors

Brakes problem
2004 Mazda 3 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 67000k miles

Had my front rotors replaced recently. On the one rotor a thin strip of rust along the edge started to develop, about 4mm wide. The impression I get from looking at it is the the brake pad is not properly fitted to cover the entire rotor 'blade'. Is this a cause for concern or is this fairly normal. When I look at other car's rotors they don't seem to have any rust except on the outside edge of the rotor where the vents are. What do I tell the dealer? Would a brake adjustment service fix this problem?
