Loud bang from front drivers side and now rattle noise

I was driving when I heard a massive loud bang from front drivers side and now I hear rattle noise when I go over bumps over 20mph what could it be? So I have checked under the bonnet and cant see anything, checked under the car and cant not see anything. I think it may be coming from the front drivers side. Nothing obvious but could be suspension.
