INTERCHANGABLE AOD & AODE TRANSMISSIONS?
Lincoln Town Car
I have a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis, 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis and a 1999 Lincoln Town Car Cartier. Now, the Lincon's transmission is in need of replacement. The 1992 Grand Marquis is a parts car and the transmission is still good. The 1995 Grand Marquis is an everyday driver with a good transmission. I would like to take the good transmission from the 1992 Grand Marquis parts car and put it in the 1999 Town Car. I did some research and found that the Lincoln's transmission is a 4R70W AODE and so is the 1995 Grand Marquis. But, the 1992 is an AOD transmission. I want to try to take the 1992 transmission and put it into the 1999 lincoln town car. Will it fit and what is the modifications needed? Thanks!
