2004 Other Lincoln Models overheating

2004 Other Lincoln Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 92000 miles
One day the car shut off automatically followed by a loud noise, eversince then it shows that its overheating. The water pump and the thermostat was changed but the engine light is still on and it shows that is still overheating
please help
