Electrical problem
2004 Other Lincoln Models

I have a 2004 Aviator and one of the power side view mirrors stopped working. The dealer tested the motor and said it was OK and that it was another problem that might take as much as 4 hours to find. I would think that there are so few components that could cause this problem. If the motor is OK, what steps do you recommend to chase this problem down? I have a volt meter and know how to use it.

Has anyone else already had to make this repair and what was the problem?

If it's the driver's side, check the harness both at the motor, and where it passes from the door to the body, where the wires bend, they can break. Then it can also be the switch. If you have memory mirrors, what happens if you move the mirror by hand with key off, then hit the memory button?
