2002 Other Lincoln Models strange noise under the hood

2002 Other Lincoln Models V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 118000 miles
not evertime, but about 1 out of 4 times, when i stop at a red light or traffic, there is a humming almost horn like sound coming from under the hood. once i continue driving the noise stops..........i know it is not my air ride pump.
