Engine Cooling problem
1996 Lincoln Mark VIII V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

the fan is not going on soon enough and the engine is over heating Do I need a new heat sensor for the engine so the fan will go on sooner? What is your opinion.

You can test the fan moter by removing connector and hooking to the battery on a fused wire. If not it you can also heck the relays, try witching them first. Coolant sensor should be in water pump, not sure if temp sending unti could be problem. Donate a few bucks for a pro's help
