1992 Lincoln Continental Ride control light

I took my 92 continental in for some transmission work. Now suddenly the ride control light is on all the time and the ride is very rough. I don't think the rear air shocks are inflating. I've read that you're supposed to shut off the air ride before you put it on a hoist, but I don't know if the mechanic did that or not. How can this be fixed?
