"thug" sound when slowing down

1995 Lexus SC 430 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 221000 miles
Hello,
I hear a single "thug" sound coming from the rear of the car whenever I'm slowing down and the speed getting down to about 10-15 mph. I'm not quite sure if it is coming from the transmission or the prop shaft or the rear differential. I used to own a '91 BMW 735 and I remember it having the same problem.
