1991 Lexus LS 400 no power

Engine Performance problem
1991 Lexus LS 400 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 184k miles

Starts , idles NP When to take off no power, shudders a little but drives. After 10 min of driving Converters red hot. Replaced pass side was golwing same problem. Checking ignition coils passed, has no codes no Mil light. I thought it was just a clogged converter but looked at old converter ,not clogged at all will keep doing tests

Hi direbrother,

The catalytic converter glowing red hot is an indication of misfiring resulting in excssive fuel getting to the converter.

Check the spark plugs and fuel injectors.
