1997 Lexus ES 300 Checking Dexron level
When checking the transmission fluid level in a LS300 should the car be running or shut off?
Also, this car takes a long time to shift when cold but when its warm the transmission shifts fine, is this normal?

is the cable broken? if not try having someone push down hard on ther hood, then pull the hood release. sometimes they get stuck. if the cable is broken the thing you would have to do is get to the cable through the grill. with long pliers you should be able to pull the wire.
