Leaking fluid from heater core

Started leaking fluid so took it to parts store they said it was leaking from
The weep hole in the heater core and said I could bypass it till I could afforded
To replace the heater core I bought the parts to do it got top and bottom
Hose off and hooked them together but when I started the car all the. Fluid
Still peeked out the bottom hookup for the heater core what did I do whrong
Please help hooked everything back up the way it was so still leaking from the
