I took my freelander in for a routine service, and was informed that the engine has an external oil leak, and internal coolant leak.

i was asked how attached I am to the car?

its going to be a $10,000 repair job !
alternatively you could trade it in for something else !

i'm flabbergasted !

any advice

thanks

If the coolanrt leaks internally, it could be head gasket, head waped or cracked, or a water jacket, less common. I recommend a second opinion! An engine for an English patient such as yours probably can run that much!
