I have an old Disco, most recently it has started making seriousl loud, grinding, rubbing, metalic noises - to the extent it actually turns heads.

We have stripped the rear diff, replaced the imput bearing, replaced the wheel bearings at the rear. There have been no metal filings found. Topped up with new oil it still makes this noise when driven over a distance of 30 miles !!.

yesterday the noise reached a new level.. A loud crunch happened and is now a permenant noise, yet still no obvious signs of damage within !!!!

Im at a loss, the car goes with me to the Falkland Islands next week, can you give me any steer on what to do ???
