Engine whirring noise

2001 Kia Spectra 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 122000 miles
In he past week my engine makes a loud whirring noise (like an airplane) once I hit about 25-30 miles per hour and continues while I'm driving. When I brake, I can hearing the whirring wind down until there is no noise.

If the car is in neutral or park, when you rev the engine, do you hear the noise and does it change based on RPM's

noise and shaking goes away when in park or neutral

If it is a vibration, have you checked motor mounts?
