The car all of a sudden developed an uneven engine sound and the check engine light came on, it has a lot less power but still runs uneven.
runs smooth on neutral, but when pulling the weight, it is weak and a little uneven

I have the same problem man.

If you haven't already maybe change the timing belt. From what I have read online, that is a common problem with this car.

I think the recommended change of the timing belt is supposed to be every 100,000 km (60,000 miles). I have also read a lot of people not waiting that long because these belts are breaking earlier and that the problem could really damage the engine.

I will get mine replaced in the next month and see how much it will be, if it fixes the problem and then I will message you back. Also, if you find out what your problem really is, tell me ok?
