We replaced the gas gauge and the check engine light came on. They then replaced the fuel tank pressure sensor and the light went out. It now is stalling when idling and the check engine light is on again. Any ideas. The trouble code is p0442

Hello there, EVAP codes can be tricky to diagnose. I don’t want you to back track but just that question is in the back of my mind. Did they leave something loose when installing the FTP sensor? I would start by removing the purge control solenoid on the engine to see if it is stuck open at all by blowing light air through it. Use your mouth pressure, if possible, air flows one direction through it. If air can be blown through it then it is stuck open causing your leak. That the first thing to try. Next would be checking the canister close valve to make sure it is operating properly. You want to remove and bench test with 12 volts off the battery and ground. Hook power to one terminal of the canister close valve and the ground to the other terminal. This should shut the solenoid, not allowing air to go by. While the solenoid has power and ground hooked up, try blowing through it. You should be able to blow through it. If you can then I would recommend replacing it.
