I have a 2001 Kia Rio automatic transmission, 150,000 miles. I was replacing the left front axle assembly and I was unable to get the axle to come loose. I disconnected the axle from the wheel but I was unable to get the axle free from the transmission. Is there a special tool or any tricks to getting the axle to release?

The special tool would be a big pry bar lol. Just put the pry bar beetween trans and axle and force that baby out. Try turning the axle a little in trans with car in neutral, then try to pry some more it will pop out, it takes some force. Good luck
