2006 Kia Optima would not accelerate

I started my car fine today and it went into reverse fine. I then put it in drive and hit the gas and nothing happened. The transmission pushed the car but when I hit the gas nothing happen. I am also having a check engine light. Right now I am stationed in Turkey and do not have the resources to go to a Kia dealership and get it checked out also I do not trust the turkish to work on my car. Do you have any advice on what it could be?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.
