2006 Kia Optima steering wheel vibrates

2006 Kia Optima 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 49000 miles
Dear Sirs:
When we apply the brakes on our optima the wheel starts vibrate, what could be causing this issue? also the model is a 2006 1/2 year
