2005 Kia Optima Compressor repair

Air Conditioning problem
2005 Kia Optima 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 93000 miles

I have a loose/wobbly air compressor pulley. I am not worried about cooling right now, but do not want the pulley to come off and risk damaging engine (vales/pistons). I need to know if replacing bearing hub on compressor pulley will make pulley turn and fix wobble until I can replace whole compressor, or repair issue with cooling (if ness). this is a cost issue mainly, but $400 to repair something I can fix, even temporarily doesn't make sense. ALSO if I do replace and compressor is LOCKED UP, will clutch allow to turn as needed, or will i need to replace pulley as well.
