Brake lights wont turn off

2001 Kia Optima 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 45,000 miles
Kia Optima brake lights stay on, pulling up on pedal helps but does not keep them off after letting go. Think it is a brake light switch, cruise also not working. Is this a hard repair to make?
