04 Kia Optima cuts out at 3000rpm
vehicle cuts out at 3000 rpm while standing or driving. if i depress the accelerator the car will run perfect till 3000. then it cuts out and drops to 3000, then will rev over and back down, repeats. the car hasnt been filled since the beginning of the week. had the problem...then went away within an hour.....resurfaced 5 days later without incident between then and now.

Did the check engine light come on when it was doing this? Have it scanned at Autozone, they do it for free. Was it exactly at 3000 every time?

check engine came on well after problem started. yes exactly 3000.

Need to have it scanned anyway. Most likely related.
