I was just driving down the road & it stopped. I had just bought it when it did. I replaced the plugs, wires, dist. Cap, rotor button & the ignition switch, ignition coil. It just tries to crank with no catch. I do smell gas, I do have spark to the ignition coil & spark plugs. This is a 6 cyl.

any idea why it wont run?

thanks

Try using carb cleaner into the throttle body-if it starts and die-start checking the fuel pressure and for an injection pulses while engine being crank over.

This is a carb unit not fuel injected. Where is the throttle body for me to do carb cleaner?

No EFI you don't need the carb cleaner -pull the throttle back the accelarator pump should squirt fuel if not-check the fuel pressure-fuel pump could be bad

Also look for spark-disconnect a sparkplug wire ground it to the engine and have helper crank engine over-do you have spar?
