I have a 83 Jeep Scrambler that wont start. It is getting fuel but not starting. I have replaced the coil, distributor with new cap and button, elrctronic ignition mod. and solenoid. the only thing that i have not replaced is the computer.

Sounds like electronic ignition module, NOT COMPUTER

Turddog......That was my problem you nailed it. i purchased a new electronic Igition module from the store and it was bad. Now i have a carb problem. the previous owner installed a carter back on the Jeep but it does not have the stepper motor on it. plus several items have been bypassed. The Jeep starts great but emits black smoke, and when i try to go up a hill it misses. Any thoughts?
