1999 Other Jeep Models OBD-II EVAP code P0443 Help please

1999 Other Jeep Models V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 175000 miles
My check engine light is on and the code is P0443 "EVAP Purge Solenoid Valve 1 Control CKT". I don't know exactly when the problem started because the bulb in my MIL was burned out and I didn't find out until I took it in for a smog check. I've got a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L and it runs fine. I replaced the purge solenoid and then disconnected the battery to clear the codes but the second time I started up the code came back. I'm thinking the PCM might be faulty but I can't find any info on how to check it and I can't find any schematics to help locate a possible wiring problem either. Anybody got a suggestion here?
