Hi,

I have a '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee (4cyl, 2wd) that is leaking coolant. The leak has been coming from the top connection point of the lower hose (connection to the engine). I was told that I should replace the hose and clamps to fix the problem.

I just replaced the lower hose, new hose, new clamps etc. And when I refilled the radiator and tested it out, the leak was coming from the exact same place. Needless to say, I am very frustrated and could use a few tips, pointers or ideas about what might be happening.

Thanks for your help,
Jeremy

You probably have a crack in the neck for that hose. If the tanks are plastic, maybe the lower tank(or side tank if its not an upright)can be repaired, or replaced. Copper, steel, or aluminum tanks can all be repaired. Worst case, you will have to buy a radiator.
