Engine Performance problem
1998 Other Jeep Models 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 123167 miles
Hi, I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Every time I hit the gas it putters for a few seconds, sometimes stalls. Then it drives fine, then when I stop it does it again. Not sure where to start on fixing the problem.

I would start with the EGR valve, and/or the vacuum operated sensor that controls it. If the valve opens to quickly, it will cause a stumble and/or a stall condition.
