Rear end makes humming noise

2002 Jeep Liberty Four Wheel Drive Automatic 121000 miles
I believe the sound is coming from my rear end. When I am driving between the speeds of 20 and 50 mph, I hear a humming noise coming from outside my Jeep. After 50 mph the sound goes away, but comes back after I hit 70 mph. I would like to know if this is a cause for concern or not.
