1997 Jeep Laredo Transmission problem

1997 Jeep Laredo 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 254895 miles
replaced the transmission on my car with a used transmission didnt change the filter though. car drove well for a good two months then started acting up on me the day before yesterday. it wont switch into the gears when i put it in drive it wont go foward, when i put it in reverse it takes a minnute but it switch and makes a wierd noise. i did a filter kit and it drove perfect for a day, woke up this morning and its messing up again. What could it be?
