Transmission problem
2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my transmission quit shifting and I got a service engine light on. I checked the code and it was P1762 manufacturer transmission control. Is this a sensor problem or transmission problems?

Sounds like a transmission control module problem, it will need to be checked and possibly replaced, but I would not recommend buying one from the dealer, only because they are gonna charge you an arm and two legs, go to a junk yard, check ebay, or somewhere with used parts, (just as good)
