2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee engine light blinking on and off

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 31243 miles
I would like to know if my car is not getting gas to make it go and the engine light keeps blinking on and off, what is the problem.
I took it to a dealer and first he said that it was the fuel injection wiring that connected to the computer, now he is saying that it is the computer itself.
