Hi, I have an 84 jeep cj 7 and I'm a Do It Your Self -er. I'm overhauling my front differential. The DANA 30. I got the part number off a axle seal, being replaced, and can't find it by that part number at any of the local parts stores. I bought a replacement seal for my application for this part through a catalog but when I got it, I realized it's in a different syle and design. So my question is, since the part I ordered is for the same thing and for my yr. Make and model. Can I go ahead and use it.

There are many different styles of seals for this axle. Some after market companies even have seals for both ends of the tube. I always sugguest replacing inner seal and installing outer seal to minimize leaks.
