My 79 CJ has a chevy 350 engine from a 1985 G20 Van. This is an automatic with quadratrac AWD. The question I can't seem to get an answer for is why does this Jeep have lockouts on the front wheels if it is still running the quadratrac system? It is my understanding that they make some kind of a conversion kit to make this a part time feature but how would I know if this had been installed?

See my profile,

I think once you see this kit, you can HOPEFULLY see the MODIFICATION. It all looks internal to me. Maybe investigating this Site, I sent, or calling them may explain stuff better. They are the Expert on this

In my mind, A 2WD option is a great improvement, I've seen too many quadrafellers with "Band Problems"

I do not know much about quadratrac, have aided a few with their band.

I hope this helps
