Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 2000

I have a 2000 model Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7l V8, recently the heater on the left side of the car comes on when the a/c is running. If you stop the car and turn the engine off then restart the system returns to normal.
It has dual climate control (each side)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
