Hello,
I have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee-120,000 miles, and it keeps stalling...I noticed that it idols really low when I stop but now it has started dying almost every time I stop (and I always have my son with me)...I will admit I am a girly girl and I don't know anything about cars so I am trying to get an idea of what this could be before I go to the shop and get taken advantage of...Thank you for any help

First thing girly girl...is the check engine light on? if yes go to autozone and they will test it free! Then come back and post the codes!

no check engine light on but I took it to a shop and they cleaned out some kind of valve and it has quit stalling but the idle is in 400 and 500 rpms when you let off the gas...I have a tune up scheduled for Friday I just want to know if this sounds like something a tune-up would fix or if I am going to be spending my money on something that won't fix the problem...

Tune-ups and gas and oil and tires are all nessecary evils...do you need one? How many miles since the last one? Bad plugs and wires can cause idle and starting problems. Other things can too, but you must have the basics in good order first!
