I'm looking at a manual for a regular jeep cherokee, shows 4wd indicator light and vacuum switch for command-trac. Wiring diagrams in back (chap 12) do show a switch in the guage/warning light section, but no location. I'm guessing this will be a matter of following wires either back from the front differential to the console, or vice-versa. Problem is, your warning light doesn't specify if it's the position indicator switch in the shifter console, or a vacuum motor switch down at the differential. Do you have an owner's manual to indicate why this light would come on?

Ah-Ha! Found out it needs the VSS replaced this is the vehicle speed sensor it's located on the back of the transfer case near the rear drive shaft. This is just MY thoughts - maybe someone out there can back me up. While you're at it, check out the vacuum lines you see for breaks, holes, etc.
