Do I need a new PCM?

I have a P0100 and a P0101 I need to know how to solve this problem. Do need a new PCM?

I'm sorry I gave you the the wrong trouble codes. I have a no communication problem on a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. On the enhanced side of my scan tool I have a U0100 and a U0101. Now what I want to know is how to resolve this issue?

Is it possible for a car with such a low mileage to be experiencing engine control module issues? And can I trust replacement?

Recently I left my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo at the airport & upon my return, the truck wouldn't start. Had to get a tow. Once got it to the dealership security key light was on. Was told I needed a new SKIM & new key programmed to be able to 'test' & see if that was the only issue. Tech installed a new SKIM, was not able to program the new key because he said a new PCM was needed. Needless to say, I didn't get the PCM due to the unexpected expense. Spoke with an outside mechanic who said he suspects a ground just shorted out. (He hasn't seen the truck yet.) Was it the probability it just needs a new ground vs a new PCM? Or what else do you think it could be in your opinion?

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8 and I need some advice. I am currently unemployed and really having a time with a local repair shop.

I had some overheating issues back in April and still don't have my car back. They have basically rebuilt the engine from the valves up and everytime they return it to me - fixed - it breaks down again.

The last time it started cutting out and when I stopped it would not restart.

They are saying that it is the ECM and while I have already paid over $3,000 to have the car repaired and 4 times it has already gone back not fixed right, they want an additional $1,000 to fix it.

Obviously I would have not put this much in a car of that age, but I love the car and it is like new condition and has never given me problems before, so I opted to keep it - when I though the repairs would not exceed $2500.

Is it possible this is a separate problem and not the result of somthing they did or did not do? How much should I expect to pay for the ECM and installation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can a bad pcm cause the ignition coils and alternator to go bad also. My repair started with replacing the coils, then the alternator and only after the pcm was replaced was the problem of stalling and gauges not working solved.

My daughter just bought a 2002 grand cherokee.
With 69000 miles.
We checked CARFAX last evening and found that it failed its last emission test.
The vehicle came from New York To Mass. It passed inspections in NY
We called the dealer who said that the vehicle had been sitting awhile and that the computer had shut down and that by driving it that the computer would relearn, and that they would issue us a sticker.
Should we take the vehicle to be tested at another station? And is he telling us the truth?

Last year the engine light cam on and ended up needing a catalytic converter. Now a year later the light comes on and the codes are catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1 and 2 respectively. There are 4 O2 sensors. One upstream and one downstream on each leg. Do I need ne w upstreams? Downstreams? New Converter? All?
And why does the system seem to have so many problems, new PCM?

The computer display that shows the direction and temperature on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee has stopped working. The direction still shows; but everything else shows up as "dashes"; as well as my window controls have stopped working and the dome lights stay on at all times. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
