I have an intermittent engine stall problem. It will suddenly die at 70 mph and restart itself or it might die at a red light (at which time I can "feel and see" the stall coming - there are 2 or 3 rough jerks and I can smell an acrid odor as well as the tach starts dropping and goes to zero though not a straight drop - it might flucuate for a while before it finally stalls). The repair shop has replaced the fuel filter, determined the fuel pump is fine, replaced the batter and cables, replaced the crank sensor, checked the catalytic converter to see if it is full, and in general cost me several hundred bucks and I still have the issue. Oddly enough, it is not as frequent as it was before at high speeds and it has not stalled at all at a red light. While at a light I have noticed that the oil pressure gage roams up and down from 20 to about 45. The gage flucuates quite a bit and moves fairly rapidly. Any ideas on what I can try to "fix" the root cause?
