1995 Jeep Cherokee Laredo

Check the linkage and cable, pop the hood if you see the ball off the socket then go right on ahead and put the ball on the socket, if she still dont work then zip tie her down, but she may be loose because if she was off then the car wouldnt start so she may be loose like I said, the ball should be a tad bit to the drivers side from the center all the way back, on a jeep I believe she may be tad bit to the passengers side though, but check it out and let me know
