My vehicle cant start. It back fires through the throttlebody when turning the engine. Initially it showed fault code for intermittent CPK, stuck transmission shift solenoid and injector 1 misfire.I had it filled with gas to the bream as I was making a long trip and that's when all hell broke lose. It had no power, and was running as if its cutting fuel (pulsating) and it also increased fuel consumption significantly. It finally died as I was about to reach home.I put in a set of upgraded (4 hole) fuel injectors, changed CPK and Camshaft sensor, no difference. Can u please help me to trouble shoot the problem.

Is the check engine light on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

This is a follow up question to the one I asked.

I just remembered that at some point the jeep threw in these codes:

P0340, P1765, P1391, P0531, P0761 and C214C.

This codes then disappeared except for P1391 and P0301 showed up. I also recall that before it shut off, the MIL light flashed for some time. Presently the codes which are persistent when cranking are P0761 and C214C.

I tried the quick start spray trick with no success. I have read threads about catalytic converter and camshaft target wheel. Can one of them or both cause it to backfire through the throttle body? Please help. I am at my wits end with this car.
