1997 Jaguar XK8 COOLANT LOSS

Engine Cooling problem
1997 Jaguar XK8 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 83000 miles

LOSING COOLANT --ENGINE LOW COOLANT LIGHT COMES ON-REFILL-NO LEAK OR DRIPS--WHERE COULD COOLANT BE GOING--ADVISED COULD BE GOING INTO ENGINE BECAUSE OF BAD HEAD GASKET--ANY OTHER THOUGHTS-

IF GASKET PROBLEM-APPROXIMATELY WHAT WILL THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS BE ?

NOT a headgasket. Heater hoses located beneath the intake are most likely leaking. You can't see it because it fills the engine valley then leaks out the back on top of the transmission and some on the exhaust. Most of it exaporates or gets crusty before you'll see it. Water pumps will do the same but those you will usually see the puddle.
