Engine Performance problem
1991 Jaguar XJ40 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
someone ran car out off petrol .ever since car starts off key runs perfect for 5 seconds then runs like its missing the odd backfire . then when engine gets to normal temp (even though it sound and runs terrible) it dies and wont start again untill engine has gone cold again . and youre advice would be very apreciated . thanks very much .wont rev up properly .

check fuel pressure or replace fuel pump

hello i have the same car with the same problem did this fix your problem? i have had mine check and they are saying that its the computer that controles the engein can you give me some advice?
