Engine Performance problem
1991 Jaguar XJ40 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

someone ran car out off petrol. Ever since car starts off key runs perfect for 5 seconds then runs like its missing the odd backfire. Then when engine gets to normal temp (even though it sound and runs terrible) it dies and wont start again untill engine has gone cold again. And youre advice would be very apreciated. Thanks very much. Wont rev up properly.

Check fuel pressure or replace fuel pump

Hello I have the same car with the same problem did this fix your problem? I have had mine check and they are saying that its the computer that controles the engein can you give me some advice?
