2004 Jaguar X-Type Will not start

I have a 2004 Jaguar x type. It will not start. the battery and starter has been checked and they are good. It has power, lights, etc but just will not start, nor go out of gear. It stop on me last thursday, yesterday my husband went out, tried it approx 6 times and the last time it turn on. he drove it around the block. cut it off and started it up again. Next time it went back to doing the same thing. please help
