2000 Jaguar S-Type engine noise

2000 Jaguar S-Type V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 111000 miles
what would cause knock from the middlle part of engine between both banks sounds like castinets knocking together only seems to do it on tick over sounds like a diesel

start by checking the oil level is correct and there is good oil .. replace with a thicker grade oil if necassary
