I've replaced both the clutch master and slave cylinders, but am unable to bleed the system. No fluid or air comes out of the slave cylinder bleed nipple. I've tried a vacuum hand held pump with no success. I appreciate any advice you may have.

Did you bench bleed the master? That could be your problem

Try having someone hold down on the clutch pedal while tring to vacum bleed the system
